There's nothing wrong with this Boston program if everybody knows their
rights, and the police follow through each according to the law. However, since the rooms they'll potentially be searching is owned by a person NOT of legal majority, their screaming to high hell would constitute, in my opinion, probable cause. Still, to keep things on the up and up, what they might want to do is keep a judge on speed-dial for just such occasions, and when a teen starts screaming that nobody is going to search their room, obtain a warrant while the police have a cup of coffee with mom and dad (who have given their permission, of course). The fun part of all this is when the teen is a smartass or socially immature and the police find out that he was simply trying to hide his stash of nudie pics, lotion and kleenex...
But, hey, Corbin, wasn't Boston where the first real organized resistance to English tyranny began. Hmmmmm. Could be something cyclical here...

Corbin
A very difficult situation! The practical benefits of such searches, if permitted by the parent(s), are self-evident, though they may well be constitutionally questionable. But then, the framers of the constitution did not envision 21st century social realities. How could they? So maybe it's time for another amandment...
