Hmmmm....Interesting! I do believe selflessness is taught; the good feeling

of elation when giving up something to denote kindness toward another. I believe the warm fuzzies must be taught and are a gift specific to the human species. This provoked a personal note of thought; I work with small businesses, many generational bestowed positions rather than truly earned. One third-generation business I noted the founder sent his offspring to venture not allowing them to participate until thirty years of age. Having reached this milestone, the son chose to participate, the sister chose to remain on her own. The son, not willing to be handed anything worked hard for his inheritance. The sister did well on her own with her father's assistance (a wise father as well as business man).

The second situation (I'm involved currently and specific to my point); I found myself a little disheartened (envious), having trained the daughter to the business myself, receiving a $60,000 annual salary at 28 years of age upon walking into the business, simply because she was the heir, whereas I at this age, five years into my business make far less.....but (there's always a but), I have witnessed her continual complaints of never receiving enough and now pushing the envelope for the written Will to be solidified as well. Too great a reward without the sweat of her brow is making her weak and whiney. The reward is personal growth moreso than fudiciarily, following the toil. (Maybe a wise business man once but not a wise father).

How many monkeys do y'all personally know?
Seriously, I don't know any humans who throw their s**t at each other....well, not ones past two, anyway.....and most don't go around rolling their lips up and sticking rows of teeth in each others' faces....nope, I'll take a bunch of fellow human beings any old day....not the ones the media showcases, or Hollywood produces, I'll grant you...but the ones I have for neighbors....yep!  I think the researchers have it right!

Isn't that the truth! I know more humans who suffer from this than I do monkeys....

Pat, even scientists are not above voicing pious platitudes! They probably know better, though...

It's happening already! That's why I don't go to the zoo anymore! I feel I am just an object of their curiosity - just an impersonal example of homo sapiens, but they don't really want to get to know me, my hopes, my dreams...

Thanks! Yeah, I guess we're still superior, but not by much...

I think you're right. The behaviorial scientests need to do some more
observations on humans. Where'd they get the idea that humans are superior because they want fairness for all?  In my experience, nobody acts on that impulse on a regular basis. We all want to get ahead of the Joneses, not keep up.  We say all are created equal, but we know some are more equal than others...  I'll volunteer. They can give me grapes and cucumbers all day. As long as they're locally grown and organic.
