What can I say but that you're right, Pat! Of course, it has always been thus, and will remain so...

Re: I got one. Joe Biden telling Wolf Blitzer that he'd choose Chuck Hagel as
Saul, I'm glad to be in the position never having to vote for any of these guys! Actually, of that whole gang Biden came of best, I thought. And this Kucinich guy is downright weird and scary! Reminds me of people I occasionally see roaming the streets here in Toronto with signs saying 'Long Live The Albanian Revolution', and some such...

They're courting us now. They say we're beautiful and lovable,

and they don't deserve anyone as wise and wonderful as we are. They say they will take care of us and be there for us, and do whatever we want as long as it's good for the country. They show their caring, nurturing side and are careful to explain any mistakes from the past, we know better now, they say. We've changed our mind about this or that stupid policy because they've learned, they've found out what we all know to be self-evident, or they've quit ignoring the situation. They promise everything. Peace, comfort, security, low taxes. It's a fantasy, a dream, a wonderful idea, a puff of cloud on a sunny day.

But once we give in, once we yield and give them what they want, once they have the vote, the honeymoon comes to an end. They turn their heads to attend to that secret lover we never suspected, they slip around and do things behind our backs. They sell out. That piece of legislation they promised to reject because you didn't want it -- they get their friends to sign on as well, and too soon we realize how we've been deceived. It was all lies, kisses and promises and sweet talk. They got what they wanted, and now we're on our own, trying to understand what we did wrong. How could they treat us this way?

Easy.

The killer  on politicians is that they SAY  elect me and I'll do this and this and this --but what they actually end up doing . . .   Ah, well, at least the speeches help to weed out the really bad ones.

I got one. Joe Biden telling Wolf Blitzer that he'd choose Chuck Hagel as
a running mate.  And then there's Hillary's waffling roundabout concerning Elliot Spitzer's moronic driver's license for illegal aliens idea.

BTW.......
The first one on the Hallmark funnies was about running over a cat and riri was right....it was really in the "cruely joke" vein....so I took it off after she chided me (Bliss and Charm were haunting me, don't know what I was thinking about! Bubbles wouldn't have spoken to me for weeks!)....and, I don't want to mislead you....my MA blog is NOT as innocuous as the white panties title explanation I put up in the EE category! Travel there at your own risk!  I mean, I'm not ashamed of it, and the continuation of the white panties title explanation is quite tame, but many of my entries there are definitely MA material....I have many sides to my personality and like to express them all....hence, the 5 blogs!  That said, I welcome readers to know all of my sides...

I will have to watch myself more closely and see if I come to believe things just because one person says them over and over again.
