Words are give weight in the context of the dialogue by the participants.
The problem begins when one or more people engaged feel insulted or slighted and feel the need to make a public showcase of the perceived wrong. In our politically correct world (read censored), no one can say anything without offending someone somewhere. In the case of the 'n' word, it remains a powerful racial slur because of its appropriation and exclusive use by the minority it first derogated. The word was never meant to be a compliment anyway. If there's a god, I think he'll excuse a little ignorance, but not purposely hurtful acts, no matter the derivation. Nor, if he's as judgmental as he's reported to be, will he countenance much intolerance, not to mention the inability to forgive and help your fellow man overcome his ignorant and hateful ways...
