- Go to To Waterboard or Not To Waterboard... (With Apologies to Bill Shakespeare)
CD
It is totally inconceivable to me how people are against torture to gain needed information when if they take our people they behead them right on television. I don't have to go any further than to say that inducing people to be suicide bombers is the worst kind of cheap waring torture. Get a grip people.

Re: Re: Re:
By the way,
I am sure, you respect Senators Graham and McCain. They are opposed to torture.
Actually, not very often....they both have a tendency to be RINOS on a lot of issues.
On waterboarding.....
Waterboarding works
People who behead people relinquish their rights
ABC News reported that 3 people have been waterboarded in the War on Terrorism by the CIA. The CIA has waterboarded no one since President Bush appointed Gen. Michael Hayden to head the CIA.
Hayden replaced George Tenet who originally was appointed by Bill Clinton.
ABC News named only one of the 3: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
The man earned his waterboarding. He masterminded 9/11 on behalf of Osama bin Laden. He admits he beheaded Daniel Pearl.
ABC News reported: “A senior CIA official said KSM later admitted it was only because of the waterboarding that he talked.”
This argument over waterboarding is actually one more battle over whether Congress will run the country or the president. That is the constitutional struggle. That is why Robert C. Byrd carries the Constitution in his pocket. He does not want to protect your rights; he wants to preserve his power.

Re: Re:
Corbin: I never said that. Nor do I mean to say that. Torture, on any side, yields unreliable information. That is the conclusion of most experts, very conservative ones at that. The US has persons with the requisite expertise to employ acceptable techniques to elicit information, reliable information, without torture.
By the way, I am sure, you respect Senators Graham and McCain. They are opposed to torture.

Re:
I just used the words....not making an analogy to anything he may have been saying...
Yeah, I guess waterboarding would be soooo much worse on our people, than the video taped beheadings, dragging of bodies through the streets, et al.....God forbid that the Islaofascists were to switch to that dastardly ol' waterboarding......Give me a break.
Listen to what you are saying......we should take a nuke in one of our cities before we use waterboarding to gain information to prevent it???? Yeah, right!

Corbin;
Upon which Shakespeare's words do you base such an analogy? How reliable is the information gained through torture? What do you expect if similar tactics are used against our patriots if they are taken prisoners? Are you saying the end justifies the means? Pray tell.
The choice is, undebatably, very simple.
