The thing I like about Blogitland, apart from the 'testing lab' part, is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere - mostly.   I've tried various others and I have no doubt I'll meet  -.D  there, but even with all its troubles, it is still, to me, the most comfortable site.   Mmm?  Perhaps that's a bad thing.

Hiya Azur
I have terminated my account, but still reading here and there to find out where everyone will be. I have some things to move on to myself

Points taken, Azur. The voices of the "move on" crowd remind me of
Republicans who do not wish to rehash the 2000 election...  It may be a done deal, but there are some interesting aspects to the situation that need broaching...

Azur: You present quite well.

People will express themselves whether folks like it or not.  Very important to support everyone's right to the first amendment, even if they are saying something with which you agree.

As far as letting it go and moving on with it, tell it to the Tate family.  Their vigilence has kept Manson in jail all these years.  Yes, a radical analogy, but vigilence sometimes is the only defense we have of our rights, no matter how large or small the infraction.

WONDERFUL POST

Miriouma, yes I share that feeling and I thank you for your
very moving (or moooo-ving - smile) comments here. I think the hall monitor types do not see the rich colors that you describe. They also fail to see is that it is not easy for everyone to be here, and that feelings and care, run deep. We have known each other here a long while each on our paths, and I too have never seen it so tatty as it is today.

Azur,

Of the people I will miss on this site, you are one of those I will miss the most.  I still haven't had the guts to write that last post, or to follow through on clicking the "cancel account" button.  I guess it's because I didn't have a contingency plan.  I never imagined that I would leave here abruptly.  Leave, yes.  But watching the site yanked apart by - as one blogger mentioned - those hall monitor types?  Never.

It's as if Blogit had once been a tapestry woven of colors bright and beautiful, dark and light.  Then one weft was pulled from the whole, discarded.  Some would apply a quick patch job, and yes the tapestry would still function then.  But only function:  This place has lost its former beauty for me.  And the more the waters of malcontent churn, the more the colors fade away.

It's just too gray and tatty here for me.

Anyway, I'll write my last post as soon as I can sort it out.  Thank you for your kind words on my blog.  At least nobody has yet come to berate me for my feelings.  Like you say, those feelings do not have an expiration date.

Re: move along now? Or maybe i meant moooooooooooo-ve along now Pat. LOL
Yes, there is a malady here and it does impact on us.

move along now?
Azur, we have had a loss. I can't resist the old cliche that our friend is in a better place, but it's still a loss and I am very sad about it. Even though I can go to that better place and see what's happening, I realize there are still some things in this arena that need to be cleaned up. I've had the rug pulled out from under me, and the gutpunch lasts a long time. The worst thing is losing the ability to trust others, and feeling at risk in what was a safe neighborhood.

superflymom, I am always one of life's optimists
I can see things being salvaged long after others give up

Me too Skinny. But someone should mop up this mess

I think people should be able to express themselves

here however they want and should welcome that opportunity for everyone. I resent those class monitor types who think they should be able to police the tone of this site.

Well, I basically hate anyone telling me what to do.

Yep...
and now those people are starting to block those of us who think the situation and Dave's account can still be salvaged.  Watch out for blocking, obviously that's the next course of action to be taken!
