once again, excellent.

(I'm starting to sound like a broken record.)

There is one area of your post that I'd like to comment on.  You write:  " If you do not acknowledge the validity of their beliefs, no matter how ridiculous you may find them yourself, there are very few amongst them who have the maturity, worldview and downright common sense to accept the simple fact that respecting an individual's beliefs is a two way street."

If I may be so bold as to address the various Christians of the forum:  You are forbidden to judge by Christ, whom you claim as your leader (in over 3000 varieties, ranging from his being God Himself to being a prophet of the most high).  This means doing exactly what gome has stated here.

You and I have disagreed, gomedome, but I hope in those disagreements I've not offended your beliefs in any way.
