wiley, finally, I wondered if you read your comments.....
I like your writing and want you to succeed at being read, if nothing else. There is a method to BN Madness....fewer blogs, more frequent posts within them....gracias for stopping by and reading me some.

Loved your banking style, we should get together, I bank like that too. Thank you also, for giving me some insight into blogging, you  really have a way of telling a story, and they should sell easily and cover your BN. Thanks!!

Now your talking.

I have no doubts.  Don't let yours get in your way.

dknowles, okay. I pulled out my sketch pad and took out my cd of the kids dressed as Aborigines, painted and dancing around a fire. Shall make a few illustrations and then write some words to match .....scary stuff, actually doing it.

benz,
Publishers don't mind at all if your work fits the story.  Don't be timid.  What's the worst they can say, "No?"  Hell, I should have heard 'No' more often myself.  If I had, I wouldn't have two wives, four children and a couple of houses I haven't seen in a while.  It isn't a reflection of your character, its just a word. Get an outline together, a couple of illustrations, the first one or two chapters and send in a query.  Publishers pay advances.  Good things do happen to nice people.  Its time to get yours.

dknowles and bb, I do sell my paintings on eBay when I have some, usually sell clay figures and Mexican house altars.

I am on the BN trying to gain the courage to just write a children's book or two or three, but it hasn't all come together in my mind as yet.....I do want to illustrate my own book and know that it isn't a great idea with  most publishers. I have been taking photos of the grandchildren while we do our wild moments, like going to Australia in our imaginations.....and the photos would make great illustrations, when reconceived as paintings or drawings. Also have a kid's dog book in mind, but Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat has stolen my thunder....tho' I have photos to back up my 'real' dog story....and shall use them to illustrate it.

I am presently talking to a Chinese factory to mass reproduce my artwork and IF I get monthly sales percentage checks coming in regularly sometime in the future, I shall be freed to really do the books. IF I don't die first.

dk
what a nice idea. Now if only B would do it.

Do you sell your paintings(?) on ebay?

It's pretty easy.

But is there no way to convince you to sell what you write also?  How about a children's book (series) written and illustrated by you?  They (children's book publishers) pay a lot of money for that sort of stuff.  Betcha J.K. Rowling doesn't have to worry about overdraft protection. Betcha Pearl Buck didn't worry about banks after she wrote the "Good Earth."  Betcha you could if you wanted to.

Hopefully, you'll find this a polite nudge.

katray, msaries, ladyk, whim, and ginnieb, thanks for the sympathy. I remember when profits were small and customer service was king.
But, I'm old. The younger generation has nothing to compare it to. Everyone gets 30 to 50 % of absolutely all of my stuff nowadays and I grow poorer as they build larger portfolios. The rich truly do grow richer and the poor grow nearer to absolute despair in this techanized world.

That's criminal!
How awful!  So much for customer care!  I am doing battle with AT&T right now...they are downright con artists!  What a shame that people are just stacked up under policies and there is no leeway for human situations.

Do we need to put together a care package
so you will have food for the rest of the month?

Ohhhhh....

That SO sounds like something I would do, which would make my accountant sister put her head down on the kitchen table.  That sucks, dude.

Benzinha, the overdraft fees that banks charge makes me wonder who the real "bank robbers" are!

What a rip!!

Banks are right up there with law firms as extortion artists in my opinion. I'll be reading and clicking often!
