Yes the bunny is still alive...he even took a drink today. Oh and Buddy the cat is doing much better too.
I still don't hold out a lot of hope in the long run for the bunny rabbit though..

Can't do much more than you're doing I suppose. Bunnies are pretty resilient - hope he/she rallys around. (
Thank you, by the way.....)

We had a stray kitty last year. When I asked him his name he said:
"FRED". (Of course he said this in felinese) We built him a little condo in the garage with a mini space heater, some towels and an old pillow. He was awesome, although kind of a wimp around other cats, as they used to beat the hell out of him, and we were always treating some wound or other. But cats are tough animals.
Well I think he got hit by a car one day this summer because he was paralyzed from the waist down--and still he dragged himself back to the condo and hung there overnight, and when I came into the garage he flopped on his back for me to pet his belly. We finally had to put him down. What a terrible, sad day for our wittle Freddy Fudpucker. We loved that little purr-bugger.

Nature is so cruel at times..
I've seen cats attack baby rabbits before and it is heartbreaking, but they are creatures of the realm too. Also tried to save them with no luck. Hope your bunny fares better, Sally Good Heart!

Well, you know that nature intended for hawks to be natural
predators of bunnies and such. It's hard to witness such suffering but it's the master plan and the hawk has to eat to survive.
I have hawks that stalk my backyard feeders - that's pretty common - and I occasionally see them take a bird or a squirrel. I'm super sensitive to suffering and violence so on one hand it's hard for me to accept, but on the other hand I feel a sense of awe at the skills Mother Nature endowed upon the hawks.
Hope the animals in your care respond well to your efforts.

Offy, I haven't got a clue, but my hat's off to you for trying.
I hate to see animals in pain, too.

Oh, my, Sis..............
I fear for the baby bunny, and as for the cat, he'll probably make it. Is it possible that the cat attacked the baby bunny?

Sally,
I have a bunny as you know. The best way to keep him warm is to get hold of some hay or straw and put it in a box. You can also wrap it in a blanket, but not too tightly and make sure it isn't too thick...that could cause it to overheat.
About the cabbage. Get some carrots instead...Cabbage and lettuce are very bad for a rabbit's intestinal track and tummy.
I hope he'll be okay!

I know God can do anything, but how did he get all that much heart into your tiny body? You know animals are natural enemies of other animals. Be blessed.

Sounds like around here! lol!
I've never had much luck with the baby bunnies after they've been attacked, so I can't offer any help, other than to clean the wound good, make sure it doesn't dehydrate, and make sure it's kept warm.
Great post!

Offy hon, you Angel of Mercy,
Other than sterilizing the wound, for example with iodine, I don't think there's a lot more you can do, but then, I'm not a vet. However, you might want to call one...
