This is just another example...
of why Saudi Arabia should not be considered a friend of the USA. We can not stand by and condone by looking the other way. This is a heartbreaking story, and shouldn't be as under-reported as it has been. Maybe a few more open eyes and hearts are needed at the top for this kind of thing to matter. Who knows...

gosh
I don't think it's written in the Koran to kill girls like that. It's not about religion.
You know this behavior is very similar to the dictatorships in Hungary for fiftie years: they were hiding behind communism and marxism, but you bet, Karl Marx would spit in the face them.

Re: There must be some horrible chemical in their water that rots their bra
And that's why I love Einstein's quote:
The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. .....Albert Einstein
We must not, as a country, fall into the latter group.......

There must be some horrible chemical in their water that rots their brains
because only mental illness would explain the behavior of those "protectors" and the girls who lost their lives to stupidity. Cheez!

Outrageous and tragic, but not surprising..
Oil, I suppose and business connections...seems the Saudis are untouchable by our government or those close to it, no matter party or gender. I heard Wesley Clark spout similar nonsense a few days ago.

So un-American to totally ignore the question of self determination, imo. Good post!

Re: Corbin
Does that justify the suppression of the non-fundamentalist women??? If the strict adherents "choose" to do so, that's fine.......
But many of these young girls many have been fundamentalists....who happened to leave they head coverings behind in the panic of the situation.....
Perhaps the Saudi police should be required to carry with them "emergency head coverings"....

I don't think it's that easy .... firstly the women in Islamic states have to acknowledge that there IS a problem! and I don't think the fundamentalists (women) would ever do that! ~ you cannot help a person if that same person firmly believes that that's the way things should be!

Re: Corbin
White Elephant......It mystifies me as to how women with power and influence in the US remain silent about the treatment of women in Islamic states.....
