This is as forthright a commentary as I have ever read on this site! It seems that Valerie Plame was 'betrayed' because her husband, an ambassador, uncovered the lie about the Niger document! Special prosecutor Fitzgerald, I believe, is still on the case!

I sincerely think there is more at stake in Iraq's oil and . . .
In poker, there are "table" stakes (oil) and to win the "pot" (territory) by any manner, including cheating if one is professional enough. However, bluffing, calling, raising, upping the ante, "forcing the pot" --call "it" what you will, are - - are all part of poker strategy. And, for the most part, poker is an American game.
We should be thinking chess not poker, since the Persians invented the game of chess; and IMO they have been using much of the same strategy as the game. joab
