Re: Re: Joab1,
To follow up briefly.  When one has the pox, the visible signs are the symptoms; the cause -- a germ or virus or whatever -- is invisible except through a microscope.  Hitler and his ilk, to this day, perform evil deeds which makes them evil's willing accomplice, and should be punished accordingly.  But they are only the "faces" of evil.  Evil begins with a thought, proceeds to an obession,  then evolves into the phenomenonal universe as a malicious deed.    joab

Re: Joab1,
Some look under the street lamp for a fallen object, because the light is better.  It matters little that they fail to look where the light does not shine, even though that is where they dropped the object.  You  look for evil where you believe it exists; I shall do likewise.  Both of us cannot be wrong, ergo one may wind up saving the other.  joab

Joab1,
Now I am really confused? You seem to suggest that everything or everybody else is led around by some "invisible" force that makes them irrational? I am not so secure in following that logic. It seems Iraq was a pretty stable and sovereign nation before Bush! Evil is not invisible and neither are the men who revel in the agony of others!

Re: Joab1, if I could sort of have a say?
Most of us feel the same way.  We fight these bloody, visible wars, against a seemingly endless supply of sacrificial pawns whose deaths mean nothing to their "leaders".  They manipulate the grief into hate and bake it into even more violence.  The instability of the entire M.E. declares that the so-called visible leaders do not call the shots.  Hell, even in our country, George Bush picks up that phone and makes the call . . . and we are always "puzzled" by his actions.  It's not philosophy, it's power politics that I'm attempting to address.  And such politics has neither loyalty or geographical fix, except in power-hungry minds. joab

Joab1,
"we have yet to see the faces of our true enemies", These are your actual words. Sorry!

Joab1,
The philosophical, is a bit too deep for me ("we have not faced our enemies"). I am not sure who is determining the "our enemies"! It would be a bit nicer if I could sort of have a say?

Re: joab1,

It's not what I want to see or hear.  Regarding the hideous carnage ongoing -- of course I detest it; it flies in the face of all humanity; however, to the ones with the long-range plans, the people are no more than bits and pieces of flesh tossed into the soup to give it "body" and "flavor".  "Humanity" is not an option -- only death or dying have honor.  IMO, we have yet to see the faces of our true enemies, we have seen, thus far, only their emissaries.  And, until we do, the carnage will continue by many different names, yet ultimately all will lead to one address.  When we can come face to face with our true enemy, only then will matters evolve.  joab

joab1,
Submerged where? People are being maimed openly and wantonly daily! I am not sure what it is you want to see or hear?

Soul Builder101,
First and most misrepresented is the "real" fact that this is not a "war"! It is the active confiscation of another nation's wealth! It is the destruction of a society for some as yet unknown. You get past all the bull by recognizing Iraq for what it is!

Very interesting commentary! I like Ron Paul because of his stance on this war! Perhaps he can stop the carnage! It hurts!

Peace Through Understanding and Justice,
Your sentiments are true for the most part, yet there is much submerged on all sides and that is where, I fear, the threat lies.  I feel  the entire situation is like some primordial soup slowly simmering to a boil and, out of whch will emerge who knows?

Kazzaman,
I am not sure about the question. Peace is a state that defines the absence of conflict! You tell me.

richinstore,
Thanks for the visit. Are we following the Righteous or the self-righteous with emphasis on the self?
