I have to agree.
I do find, however, that Michael Chrichton stays strong, but then again, he doesn't publish 20 books a year, either.
I think this is the reason I'm so blocked right now in my fiction; I have a great book idea, but I want to do it justice and get something written that's worth reading.

You're right, Brazen. Take a look at Koontz's work in the last few years.
Look at all these continuing series. Thin storylines, little or no character development. I'm also a George R. R. Martin fan. Loved "Armageddon Rag". Pat Conroy needs to write another book as well. And what the hell happened to McMurtry? Anyway, don't give up. I've gone to reading nonfiction to fill my reading time betweeen good books (well, I start them hoping they're good books).
