I am writing from practical experience. You can perhaps understand and try a few simple postures, unsupervised. The inverted postures and some more complicated ones, need to be supervised and assisted, at times. If you are serious, join a class where you can get that help. After learning, you will be able to function on your own! Thanks!

I've often wondered about trying Yoga.  I found your writing about it most interesting. It has got me thinking about trying it.

Thanks for a great entry and arousing my interest!

Easy breathing with postures, then the difficult ones come! But each in its own time! You're a good researcher! You help people. Why shouldn't I give you the thumbs up? You are not part of the breakfast club here on blogit. They think they run things! Callous egos, all!

This is a variation of the head stand. Beginners , I advise, to stay away from it. It is fraught with dangers! I will teach it as I go on! Thanks!

I have already posted my reply! I have no apologies! I am dealing with very sick people! I quoted their subsequent words! Now, who owes who any apologies! No one invalidates me, not even in the name of spirituality!

I hope I can lead you to bodily health. Yoga postures give that....barring incurable diseases.

I have read most of the books, including the one by BKS Iyengar. The actual description of postures I give are from practice. The foremost practitioner of Hatha Yoga in the West is Swami Ramdev. I saw him on those Indian stations. He is really great! He teaches you the way he does it himself! I only give basic here. But, basic is enough for anyone with the inclination to get to the beginning of spirituality! Thanks!

I had my post for today...except I got railroaded by those vipers with nothing to do but cut people down. Tomorrow, I shall go into the twists! Thanks!

In my 20's I met a 65 year old wrestler with ABS that put me to shame! Then I discovered Yoga! I will go through the rest of the beginners course!

I try to enlighten and help. The so-called leaders in blogit have a problem with that! I will easily dispense with them and return to my accustomed mode! Thanks!

Yes I do! But Blogit has its own set of EXPERTS who declare that I AM THE EVIL. They are the shadows I warn people about!

Just expressing my personal view here, Dave: I do think you owe Troosha an apology for the personal attack made on her. As you'll see when you read her blog, you've deeply hurt her and she is seriously on the brink of leaving Blogit. I'd like her to stay and I'm sure you would too.

Be clear about where I stand on this: whilst I don't agree with much of your theological argument - and have told you so in the past - I do acknowledge that you are entitled to hold such views and to some extent I'm coming to understand why you hold them. However, right now it is the personal attack on Troosha that I'm objecting to in this comment.

It's a free world - you don't have to - but personally I would like to see you retract the personal attack and help us to keep Troosha here.

There are more of my thoughts and the thoughts of others on Troosha's blog, which I hope you'll read.

Whatever you decide, have a good weekend.

I have Iyengar's book with a suggested yoga practice listed in the appendix

I found that as I reached the inverted poses of my practice I would get anxious and unable to relax.  I realized that it was because I was having a hard time with the breathing while inverted.  So as I focused on the breathing, I was able to relieve the anxiety and finally relax.

Just a tip to share!  Good post.

Now yoga is something I can see the value of.
I'd like to do it. A man twice my age put me to shame once at the pool by showing me how supple he was through yoga.
