I have been here so often, I feel the ocean rising and falling when I read your words. Falling in love to be in love has been a curse of mine, until God finally opened my eyes and gave me the strength, as you say, to save myself. Better to be alone. with God, than trying to save someone who can't save themselves and can't give love.
I pray, like you, to be ready to give and receive love. Letting go is the hardest and bravest thing you could do, to face that truth, without bitterness, without the hate that would hold your soul in years of wasted bondage. Be blessed.
