Cynthia:

Yes.  Well, students perform it on campus.  Not necessarily mine, although I do make sure to tell them about the opportunity as often as possible.  I performed my senior year and it was fantastically liberating, so I try to encourage as many women as possible to try it, or at least attend.

Wonky, do your students
perform it on campus?

Cynthia:
Absolutely excellent.  The Vagina Monologues are fantastically important.  I took part three years ago, and have contented myself to being one of the faculty sponsors/organizers these past two years.  Great post, Cynthia! :)

Poeticdewdrop, Why not?
You yourself slipped outof that very same vagina
and in that moment when you were all covered with afterbirth
you didn't look so good either, if you use your criteria
for beauty.

Go Girls Go!!!
and thanks for reading. I'm wondering
what Jemmie is thinking about now and how
she feels about her own body? Just curious.

I consider my vagina one of my best features. LOL

The Vagina Monologues is a wonderful show. I took part in a benefit production of it at the YWCA, and I learned so much from being around the people I was, and being a part of the show.  Women should not be ashamed of the "V" word.

Great entry.

Interesting
How the gender wars continue. I too was taught to hate certain parts of my body over the years, and I still have problems. I know this is out on tape somewhere, I'll have to find it. Thanks for your essay.

Cynthia...
Interesting and informative!  I agree with missyjblog's comment too. Funny how men are so proud and pleased with their genitalia from day one almost, and many women have to learn to become comfortable with theirs.

They have my sympathies too...poor wounds...they never heal...

This was a funny post, Cynthia

I am a fan of my own genitalia, including my vagina, but I just have no curiosity about anyone else's.
