:)  The middle of London with all those views is pretty spectacular... I still get a *thrill* when I see it all, even after 32 years!  I don't know... it seems to have such a sense of 'history' to it..

Thank you!  Hope you do get to come here on your next trip... I bet you would get a lot of *great* photos of it, with your incredibly talented phote-taking skills! :)

:)  Come back and visit one day!  I know what you mean, sort of - I lived in Brighton for 4 years.  It was a great place too (although a bit *too* much - kinda like London but all packed into a very small place!) but by the time I moved back to London, I was DESPERATE to get back here!

LOL! .... OMG you're so funny!!! .... I don't think I will go on it myself but not because of the heights but because I'll probably feel sick!  seriously, my stomach doesn't handle these things too well!

Thank you W_E! :)

Yeah, I felt that way at first.. I think most people here in London did...  but I do think it looks stunning.  On the Millenium New Year's Eve, me and my mum went into the centre of London to see the firewords by the River Thames - it was really out of this world.  When we got off the train, you could see all these beautiful rays of different coloured lights flashing from the wheel - it looked wonderful.

Although a) it was a freakin' nightmare trying to get to the edge of the Thames, it was SO packed you could barely breathe, b) It poured the whole time and c) because there were so many people, the underground trains couldn't cope and Waterloo station just shut down for hours!  There were police on horses everywhere! We finally got home at 4am, but it was worth it.

Oh yes and d) my mother is an embarrassment to me.. we got lost at first in little back streets, suddenly police were there cordoning the road off because the Queen was about to be driven past .. my mum is not a royalist at all, but she shrieked (very loudly) "OMG It's the Queen" and pointed at the car... everyone looked at us (including the Queen) while I tried to pretend I didn't know this mad woman.  THEN a few minutes later another little road we were on was cordoned off and the Queen was driven past again... it was then that we realised she was following us, clearly hoping for our autograph.

I don't think I could ever make myself go on the wheel though... I'd kind of really like to, but I've got a phobia of high places over water... so it's probably not such a good idea ;)

stunning photos to say the least ..... do you like the wheel?

I still can't bear myself to welcome it to London ~ I just think it looks so out of place!
