Re: Hi Justi -

...thank you!  I love that..."poverty of heart!"  I couldn't agree more.  I am going to post a daily memory/moment (hopefully) daily.  So I'd love for you to come back and check out future blips on my life's journey!

Make today a good one!

Excellent post. I remember lots of those sorts of times. I call them base ignorance. It comes from all colors and all kinds. It is poverty of heart.

Ann Onimous - great example of what I was hoping this blog might bring...

...my bigot reminded you of another kind of bigot which had nothing to do with race - cool!  I mean, not "cool," the sad reality of the judgemental world around us.  But, cool, your comment was exactly what I was looking for - simply your moment, any moment that you remembered, due to all or any part of mine.

I LOVED your story and, cheers to the large, but witty, bi-lingual woman for her impressive response to such an ignorant comment!

Thanks so much and I hope you continue to visit and respond - I am hoping to post a new Can you, or can you not, relate? Blog every day, or as often as I can!  Hope to see you back soon.

Until next time...

Ahhhhhhh...but, will it?  I truly, truly hope so!  Then again, this basically bitter ol' bag could have easily been thinking, "Oh well, I probably stuck my foot in my mouth, but my point still holds true today... "they" like big butts and her fat ass probably couldn't get a "white guy," anyway!  I suppose I'll never, ever know.

Thanks for the visit!  By the way...how's that internet search for your place in the sun, going?  Hope you're still considering sharing your "wisdom in progress" in some literary way!

2 seats

Reminds of this story ...

A friend of mine grew up in Indonesia where his father was stationed a number of years and he spoke the local language fluently. One day, while travelling on a bus in Germany with his mother, he saw a very fat lady in the seat infront. He turned to his mother and said in Indonesian "Don't you think she should pay for 2 seats?". Whereupon the lady turned round and replied in the same language "And how do you know that I haven't?".
