I'm glad you and your son made it through ok. I've never experienced that but I can certainly understand the fear. I was driving home from work one night during a really bad storm (very heavy rain and lightening). I passed two wrecks within the first 5 miles and the lightening really had me freaked (I saw a car hit by lightening a few years back). I kept seeing a nasty wreck play out in my mind...then I almost got rear-ended by a guy going way too fast (I'm sure he scared himself too because he really slowed down after that). Then, through the rain I saw the clouds part up ahead and the sunlight poked through creating an awesome sight...it looked like highway to heaven....like you could drive right up to heaven. I've never seen anything like that before and probably never will again. Call me a romantic fool but it really made an impression on me, and so I wrote the poem. Ok, I'm done rambling....just thought I'd share my story too.

Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't even notice it. It helps to have another pair of eyes. I hate when I do that (happens once in while). Spell check doesn't pick it up because it is spelled right. lol Oh well. Thanks again!

Other than the fact that you have the wrong kind of "breaks" there (should be brakes), very well done. Last February, I was with my Son and grandson on the highway and we were doing 80 when we suddenly hit ice and lost complete control of the van. As we spun off of the road, making circles as we went, we were totally helpless to do anything at all except to ride it out. Then we just sat there, totally surprised to still be alive.
