Thank you for your support and suggestions. I believe I have solved the problem, and I was able to post without a a 'freeze'. My new buddy Scotty gives me the option of Jail or Guillotine for the errant, my answer is usually...guillotine!

Install the following programs
after getting them from download.com
Adware
Spybot search & destroy
Avast! Antivirus Home version
Use the three combined, then reboot the PC as many times as necessary.

Have you recently installed any kind of program or download????
Try system restore to a previous day that was working properly........(well, that depends on the version of Windows you have)
