No child left behind the music...vintage CL!!! I loved watching U2 being inducted (Springsteen gave the induction speech thingy). Of course, they certainly deserved it. They deserve to be in all kinds of halls of fame for all sticking together for 30 years, and for two of them being with the same women for 30 years!

For the record
The Monkees have never been inducted - the editor of Rolling Stone (forgot his name) who has a big say in who gets inducted or not, doesn't believe they should be considered a nominee cause according to him they were a "fake" band. Go figure, Daydream Believer.
Again, Suzi Quatro was overlooked...I guess they like the "quality" supplied by Madoona.

I laughed and I sighed. The gold star is what got to me. One of my soapboxes is the devaluation of education because of the shortsighted thinking of a few outspoken, well-funded, self-interest groups who managed to play on the sympathies of the populace and who then began thinking with their hearts and not their heads. Did you know that some children who cannot read, write or even take care of themselves recieve identical diplomas to that wunderkind who may just find the cure for a horrible disease or solve a pollution problem or... Okay, soap box put away. Sorry. The parallel was well-written and an enjoyable read that got the point across without being a rambling rant. LOL AmMused
