Re: Good post Matie,
I've just realized I'm feeling quite the same as you when I read your last sentence. Thank you for these kind words. We both know that it's great when we finally reach that knowledge of who we really are and what we are realy meant to do on this life.

Good post Matie,

Writing has always been a part of my life; journalizing, short stories, song lyrics and poetry, as occasional gifts to friends & family on occasion but mostly for my own enjoyment, which has given me some expression of who I am & my passion for writing.

Writing has become more of an everyday exercise for me this past year, sharing here on blogit. I'm entering contests and have actually won, honing my skills and even 'writing in my head' when I should be focusing on matters at hand but albeit a blessing because of my most recent, lifestyle change of empty-nesting; filling the hours alone doing something I love while creating a new an exciting life for myself at this stage of life.

It DOES feel wonderful doing something I know I am meant to do, fitting like a well tailored glove. I am a newbie but the evolution of writing is phenomenal when one writes every day. I look back on my writing prior to a year ago and it appears, I am not the same person doing the writing. It is wonderfully fitting! ~Blessings this day~

What is natural and right for some is very unnatural and wrong for others; hence the struggle

History? That's great. I've been wanting to do that too.  Thank you. As for your decision, remember that there's always time and opportunity to learn, so it's never too late to give it a shot.

I was once a Journalism student myself, Matie. I dropped out and
double majored in History and English.  I love to write but I really hate having someone tell me what I have to pen.  There have been more than one instance where I have regretted my decision, however...

Good for you Matie
good to see you're enjoying class! ... as someone once said (can't remember who) "Find a job that you like, and you'll never have to work another day in your life!"

Go for it! I like a challenge which is why I sort of beat my head up
against a brick wall and try to learn how to do stuff that is difficult for me, but you are quite right.  It always made me feel guilty to do stuff that was super easy for me in school.  I guess because people get mad sometimes when you beat them at stuff, or get mad when you beat their kids at stuff.  I don't know.  FORGET I ever said that.  I'm remembering stuff from when I was a little tike.  I'm happy that you have found what you like to do AND you're good at it!

I don't think Journalism is too stressful and wasn't really worth it in terms of job opportunities. It depends on how you go about it. Wish you luck.
