The problem, MrBOY, is that the conscience of the soldier is often
dictated by sincere doubt, the fear of reprisal and death, and, maybe the factor with most weight, his paycheck. It is only after a tipping point is reached, when you see mass defections or the standing down of troops for whatever reason, that a movement such as the one in Myanmar becomes successful. Let's hope they succeed in finding that tipping point.
By the way, excellent comparison of the Indonesian unrest in 1998. Good post...
