The machinery of government has been modified since the founding fathers set it in motion. Adaptations that aren't necessarily in our favor as ordinary citizens. There's been a power shift toward big business, military-industrial giants taking over the stop & go buttons that elected officials are supposed to control. It's puppetry in motion.
