Krisles...
Just wondering, are they going after the emplyers who thrive by paying sub-standard wages to illegals? They too, are part of, if not the problem.

...and that should be 'its', and not 'it's' in that quote...

I fully agree with your position! One problem is that in what passes for public 'debate' logic, reason and the law get trampled underfoot. For years now, those on the side of the Mexican invaders, as I call them, speak of some sector's opposition to immigration, leaving the 'illegal' out. And the invaders claim a right to invade the US, supported by the Mexican president, who recently declared that "Mexico does not end at it's borders!" It boggles the mind!
I have posted on this problem in the past, for example here http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Nautikos/359820 and
here http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Nautikos/360273, but I have sort of given up on the whole issue, it's just too frustrating!
Ultimately, the responsibility for this mess rests with successive US governments! And that the American people accept this situation does not bode well for the future...

Well argued, it should be a matter of acting leglly in everything.
Having said that, one can see why you get illegal immigrants. It gives them hope for a better life. Ultimately, the whole world needs to address the economic imbalances between rich and poor countries. I would suggest that the populations need to reflect what is economically sustainable. To sort this problem out will take decades or even centuries.

I dunno but if Irving is taking steps to rid themselves of illegals than it's the first time I ever heard of them doing anything right...

What is Confusing About This Issue?
Try living Illegally in Mexico. See how far you get without "
mordida" -- the bribes one pays. They are more strict in Mexico than we are. Check it out. Oh, some files were lost or destroyed accidently? Open the book on Mexico, any page, and see what incubates in the book's spine. joab

Unfortunately, we have - in Texas - been completely welcoming for too many years in the past, and turned a blind eye. Illegals here enjoy pretty much the same state provided privileges as legals, but don't pay the costs. And, those who argue the economic benefit, have not seen - or choose to ignore - the facts on the economic costs....it does not balance in favor of continuing to turn a blind eye. I don't wish them ill, just want them to follow the rules, and pay the costs, associated with the benefits of citizenship. I do not doubt that you feel pretty much the same. And, for those who feel we who feel this way are being unreasonable...and there are plenty of those.....what does Mexico do about illegals....don't even get me started! When
those government officials weigh in on the discussion is when I do get angry. I just do not see how people can actually argue the point.

If, in fact, they do....then they won't be illegal any longer and I believe they will be entitled to every benefit any other citizen enjoys. But, why don't they come legally to start with?

Seems like the problem is being solved down there by those illegals coming north to Canada now, and being the nice gentle, peacekeeping , sucker type folks we are we're just letting 'em all file in as refugees.Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
