i heard all that 40 years ago
scientific inquiry has passed that stage and into a stage of discovery that continually fills in the blanks of theories of origins.
what you have described is people making assumptions without demonstrating their validity. eventually once their validity was tested those assumptions have to be discarded.
this is how things should be.
do reach a conclusion before receiving the equation will bring a wrong conclusion.
