I just heard about Offy... how is she?
How did this happen? Did she already have heart problems or was it something sudden? This is not something I expected to happen to Offy. If you speak to here please tell her I'm praying.

Oh my God.... I was just in Offy's blog and read some comments which were wishing her well and had no idea what had happened. So I find your blog and WHAM I read this news. Sally must be very frightened and although she
will recover her journey back will one step at a time. I don't know what else to say except I am in shock and she will be in my thoughts. Keep us posted....

Thanks for this, Maggie. I'm sure that for many of us, your updates will be our only way of keeping in touch with how she's doing, so I for one really appreciate the time you're taking to let us know how things are. We will all be checking in to ask for news and reaffirm our support and good wishes, but be sure to look after yourself too.

TAPS, you're just so sweet and thoughtful. I'm just going to call and keep myself up on her condition. When they take the ventilator off of her tonight, I want to know how she is when they wake her up. I'm also concerned that the heart wasn't pumping well last night and that she will require more surgery. Let's hope not.

telemachus. I'm sorry I can't give you her location. After I talk to her, if she says it's ok, I will. My instructions from her when she moved were to not tell where she lives. Those are her wishes and I have to abide. I'll tell her what you said.

Linda, the nurse has said that Offy is very sick. It damaged her heart and she will require healing time. As soon as she is awake, I will go to her - that may help her to get up faster. haha
Yes, Offy had rhematic fever as a child and it has always made her feel tired. I think now she will give serious thoughts about her smoking and give it up - I've been on her case for years.
I know everybody will miss her and I hope pray for her. I will give you all the info I get.
Anybody can have a heart attack at any age, regardless of their outward appearance or their condition. People have been given a clean bill of health, walked out of the doctor's office and keeled over. It can happen to anybody. Smoking just enhances the chances,

OK, I read the post before about the details....
As usual, our Offy is a smart cookie.....taking an aspirin and calling 911....those two things probably saved her life.....I hope everyone who reads your posts keeps those two things in their minds in case the ever develop "strange" or sicky feelings....mine were the classic pain down my arm, crushing chest, white, cold sweat, like a man....but most women don't have those symptoms and don't do anything.

What a shock to see this.....I'll have to do some more reading to see if I can find out when this all happened, where, etc. Main thing is, she's getting the best care she can. I don't know if you ever read in my blogs, but I had a heart attack 15 years ago. Diagnostics have changed a lot, but they did a catherization (angiogram) on me as soon as I was stable.....to check for blockages.....I had by-pass surgery immediately. I never had the stent/balloon thing. I know exactly what Sally and all of you are going through. You are all in my prayers and know that the docs can do wonderful things when they can get to you in time....and since she's there, they obviously did. Love to you all....please let me know if there is anything I can do.
