I looked at the same source for definition after Nautikos turned me onto the form....and then I explored other links and found one that is an online publication of several forms of Japanese prose/verse....which is why I came up with the attempt at Tanka.....I'm having a lot of fun with the whole thing and that's what matters to me. I do find that, like meditation, focusing my mind on one thing - in this case, the "rules" - allows me to tap my creativity....and then I just do whatever the hell I want to with it!
