lindo - that's the sad truth and especially pathetic when the notion of

the one and only one true path to heaven defies not only logic but the very definition of their God.

The all powerful, all loving and all merciful creator of all who is supposed to epitomize perfection and altruism apparently plays favorites and is so vane that if a person does not acknowledge his existence he holds an eternal grudge against them.  "Narrow minded" is an understatement if an individual can bridge all of these inconsistencies.

This " hollier than though" attitude is not reserved for the non-believers, it also applies to people from the same faith but with a different take on things. This shows how narrow-minded these people can be when it is not enough to believe in their God, your views need to be a xerox of theirs or elso you have a confirmed seat in hell. Pathetic but dangerous.

Talion - to me, this mindset remains one of the mysteries of the world
How can anyone connect enough dots to come to a conclusion such as you describe? It is beyond my comprehension how post secondary education can produce someone that would hold such a view. There cannot be a simpler form of rigidity than to think that anyone who believes differently has something wrong with them. This rigidity makes them above examining their own behaviour. I can muster only pity, I am beyond any form of disdain for them. If they graduated from an institution of higher learning and came away with that simplistic a view of life, they should ask for their tuition back.

It never ceases to amaze me how some, who obviously have no clue what non-believers believe (aside from the obvious), try so desperately to explain it. More often than not, it all comes out as the same old mindless drivel. We're not just wrong, but there must be something wrong with us.
