It's great to think like that. I'm sure you will see the outcome. Thank you.

I assume you're talking from your experience.
But don't worry, everything gets better when you least expect it.

Re: Pain is not my friend. (shelly)
Pain is nobody's friend, yet it's always there with us, pleading.

For over a little over a year now, physical pain has been my constant companion. I don't know if 'he' (for some reason, I think of him in those terms) will ever leave of his own accord, or can be made to leave. I hope that will happen, but if not, so be it. I don't think of this as 'enduring' his presence either, somehow. I am lucky, though, in that he is a fairly small companion, unlike the one I know others have...

Anatomy of pain
Are you sure we have to have conflict in our lives, isnt that just our conditioning that makes us believe that.

I once knew a girl who worked at a pain clinic.
Her job was to teach people with chronic pain how to manage it. It amazed me that people thought they could manage sharp nerve pain from compressed spinal discs or phantom pain from detached limbs, but she told me anecdotes about people who learned bio-feedback techniques that helped.
Physical pain makes me cranky, in fact I get depressed and hostile. You don't want to be around me if I catch the flu, and not just because it's contagious. If I burn myself in the kitchen, it ticks me off! The weird thing is, labor pains didn't do that. There was an underlying joy in the process that kind of floated me through it. Several times.

pain (any kind) sucks ....
pain sucks if you ask me, but I try not to fret too much about if I've got no control over it, if I do - I deal with it the best I can .... "Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play it is free will." - Jawaharal Nehru

Interesting thoughts, Matie. I like fiction where the utopia twists into a dystopia. Have you ever read The Blithedale Romance. Great book.

lost of love or family or job causes pain, but real gnawing pain can cause may things, along with stress and high blood pressure, and the lack of sleep

Pain teaches me nothing. It is an invader stealing well-being. That's why I search for causes so I can remove those and then bid good riddance to it! Good topic!

I think pain has
a perpetual but not infinite quality about it. I can't stand it, but it moves me. Usually to better things, but not always. Sometimes things get worse. Take care

I do try to avoid that which is painful, but not out of fear, but because I
feel joy is healthier and leaves me feeling, well, better.
