Thanks for your appreciation and words of encouragement. I type only with my right index finger with thumb as helper. It takes a while to get it done. It is worth it! Thanks again!

Re: Callista
I know the feeling Callista. I have been done that to for the greater part of 32 years. They need to change more than we do. Yet we change so we can tell them whatever you inflict on us is like water on duck's back. Change so they cannot penetrate you, while looking for options where this kind of nonsense doesn't exist. I truly believe you!

your speaking to me, i dont work for things, but to keep a place to live
and food to eat and sometimes i think i would rather not than to have to work ,  i feel so out of place ,i am like a monkey in a cage being tormented and laughed at.  its like being eaten one bite at a time by sharks.

Re: Re: SB

Yes, I agree. We sometimes aren't aware of the things or the knowledge we need grow. But most times we are taught but do not listen, we for some reason refuse to change or to listen the "wise". We keep making the same mistakes over and over. That's why we stagnate until ofcourse something happens that forces us to change. I guess that's why they say "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." (and not the other way around).

Re: Sheilah
Many people stagnate and do not grow. They may not even be aware of it. Unless they meet something someone or something to show them or tell them about growing. As a reader, I have always been prompted to grow. I would spend hours in bookstores. Of course, people change to cope with their situations. Thanks, I appreciate your views.

I went on retreat about 3 years ago and received a stone:
on it was etched the word "Change".  I keep it with me as a reminder that it's inevitable, both from without and from within as life goes on.   Great post!

Changing oneself is a necessary step but I believe that first we

have to aknowledge what is wrong and take responsability for what we must. We should let go of excuses or blaming others for what is happening in our lives ... only that way can we begin to take the necessary steps towards change. Well, that's the way I see it anyway.

An interesting and eye-opening post SB

Re: Chris
I have to check what Troosha said. I will say this though, change is incremental. I do think your opinion is on target! Thanks.

posted by Soul_Builder101 on September 12, 2007 at 10:05 AM | link to this | reply

Soul Builder--this is an extremely interesting read for me-thank you!
I will concurre with all that Troosha has said and add that each individual needs to change--not just a handfull or so--if not-major 'change' will never work!(Well-that's in my personal opinion.) Chris.

Re: Taps
A wonderful quote there. Inducing small changes like eating healthier or being more silent does convince us that change is possible. Thanks

Soul_Builder

Sometimes a person cannot see the changes in themselves because that is too close and because the world around changes so much faster.  It is easier to see changes in other people.  Before actively attempting to change oneself, one should identify the reason that change is needed and how it will effect one's life and the people in ones life.

Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.  --King Whitney Jr.

It has also been said that the more things change the 'samer' things get. Perhaps changing ourselves is the only change we can induce. Thanks for your visit and comments!

To pursue the eternal as opposed to temporal. I know beautiful souls of
beautiful people and I know the beautiful places, God has given us such beauty in creation, surrounding us and enveloping us...it's there! But this world, this giant rock floating in space with it's people and their surface needs and their temporal longing and ambitions, are difficult to live with...at times! Confusing, most times. It is in knowing that there is another world, another life without the pain, without the....bad stuff, with the promise...and in the knowing...that drives some to pursue the eternal. I can say I love life, no matter how difficult it has been, because I know where my life is going when it is done here. I guess that would be the beauty from my eyes! I need to resurface for awhile, my tri-part is off balance slightly, mind & body need to catch up! Thank you for explaining....I thoroughly understand now! ~Blessings~
