I was going to suggest sticking with the original but I think that
White is right...as much as my stubbornness disagrees, I have to concur with her on this one...whatever you choose to do, stick with it!

I'm no pro but ....
I think your editor wants a name that is simple and catchy - like Bridget Jones, Harry Potter - a name that although "normal" sticks in your mind. I don't think that name Fleura Dumont has the "personality" you're after. In my mind I immediately associate this name with someone chic and sophisticated - maybe it's because it sounds like a French name. If your book is anything like Bridget Jones, I don't think that you can label your leading lady as chic and sophisticated.
Just my opinion there ....

I agree with everyone else - I don't understand why it "needs" to be changed. I think characters with unusual names are very appealing.
You could call it "A Fool's Errand" as an ode to Talion's blog. :)
