A-and-B - it definitely tells us something about the extent people will go
to in an effort to prove the existence of things they believe in.

ariel70 - one has to be a holy translater of gibberish to really cash in
I find it rather surprising how many people still insist that such a foolish con is credible. The person I talked to later admitted that he only pretended to speak in tongues because every one else in the room was doing so as well. He didn't want to be singled out as the only person who didn't receive a visit by the holy spirit. When I asked him if it were possible that there were others in the room doing the same thing, he had never considered it. What likely took place was once someone began, we can presume motivated by either the same sense of not wanting to be left out or as conspirators in the con, others joined in for the same reasons. It is very likely that the entire room was faking it for the benefit of everyone else in the room. Yet, even though this individual admits to faking it, he still believes that speaking in tongues is a very real thing.

The expression itself "speaking in tongues" tells it.
