now that is some history lesson, I cant remember any of my presents except the Betsy Wetsy doll my dad saved to buy it for me.  Now that 57 chevy is a classic. maybe not the wagon but the sedan.  My dad bought me a 57 chevy in 1963 for $50, now I am sure it be worth a lot more.  Oh well who was to know back then

Wow,what a lovely post. made me nostalgic. My folks were of the old school

Didnt really do presents or birthdays in a serious way because we were 7 kids at boarding school.  Would maybe phone or something.  In later years we kids started celebrating birthdays and our parents took to it like ducks to water.

Im a day or two late but I hope you had a lovely birthday.

So I guess what you're saying is that short term memory is the first thing to go?

Actually, I receive the exact same "gift" every year. The gift of bitter disappointment.

Btw, did you know you share a birthday with Buddy Holly, the painter Grandma Moses, and Queen Elizabeth I?

Age ain't nuthin' but a
numerical tally of years accrued.
