It's funny that you say you prefer the Observer, I bought one this week even though we subscribe to The Times and have it delivered.  Found the reading richer.  I don't know about reading habits changing with age but the newsprint is helpfully larger in the Observer too - have you noticed?  That has to be a plus past a certain age!

Look at the big picture, as you said, can be immobilizing.  Looking at and tackling the micro pictures gives us all a sense of accomplishment and moving in the right direction.  One step at a time....

Rome wasn't built in a day. I came across a story of a receptionist who, after 10 years in the writing/blogging field, is now a highly well paid blogger. Imagine the beginnings.

I think that basically we only change on the outside.  I think that pretty much our hopes and dreams, our beliefs and our intuitions change very little no matter how much learning we accomplish or how many degrees we obtain.

You are very right about that...if I look at everything I have to do it's overwhelming but if I take it a couple things at a time I find it manageable.
