Benzinha, "Montangards" is French for sort of "hillbilly", the Hmong.
No, because we fear terrorists/Bathists to be hidden among them.
They will crowd up against the borders with Syria et al.The Turks will move in from the north to stop-punch the Kurds. Iraq will offer peacekeepers in key areas, then move in mullahs.

old speak is new speak, spoken differently, yet resonating much the same in
this old brain.
I stood on the street corners years ago and said, " I can tell you what will happen in Iraq, ask me now, for later playback."
How many CIA helpers and Montanyards (sp?) and Hmoung will we have to airlift our at the last minute? Can you see that last day on film? I can, I have already.
Embassy roof meets helicopter over screaming heads of desperate walking dead people who are not airlifted right then.

Afzal , it's deja-Vietnam-vu all over again
Check out the term "Vietnamization" some time.
Mind you, "Vietnamization" saved this hind end from becoming an airman or soldier in the conflict.
My draft number's position in the lotteried sequence (each year they drew a lottery of birth dates, the higher your number the sooner your cohort would be called; they never completed the entire draw each year, so they would draw again the next year and everyone not exempted was back in it) was closer to the top each year. The year I turned eighteen it was quite close, but as "Vietnamization" and the American drawdown took effect, the lottery number they drew to lowered and lowered in position until it missed me by three.
But we will change the terminology, let nature take it's course, declare victory and "get the hell out of Dodge", "while the getting's good".(Two more canards!).
