I didn't know dinosaurs made it into the ark. We're having slightly increasing numbers of people with longevity who made it into the media. (Those who escape cancer and the other big killers.) Maybe the the days are running faster now. Just maybe, humans might return to the days of being hundreds of years old. Its a long shot!

spinner - I've heard of the obscure creation timeframe interpretation that

you refer to as well.

Along similar lines are the interpretations that are now revising flat earth beliefs of years past. The reality of both interpretations is that they are obscure in the sense that they have never been widely held beliefs. People were put to death in ancient times for suggesting that the earth was round, though a strong argument can be made by using biblical passages to suggest that the bible in fact tells us it is round. Similarly; the days of creation have always been believed to be 24 hour days, at least by the vast majority of people.

I would contend that as our knowledge has grown exponentially in the last few centuries and at an extremely accelerated pace in the last few decades, that in conjunction; the effort to reconcile the chronology as found in the book of Genesis has accelerated as well. It is ludicrous to suggest that the 6 days of creation and one day of rest were instead eras of much longer duration. What this means is that the supposed word of God was misinterpreted by all of the countless millions of people who have believed it meant actual days, a belief, that as far as we know represented 100% of all Christians at one time. It is still the most widely held creation time frame belief by a vast margin today.

That's the problem with the so called word of God and so called eternal or universal truths. It's a real bitch for believers when beliefs derived from them are no longer credible.

I agree with you 100% although some of your writing completely pisses me off, I can tell that you are a well versed intelligent person. I have had the same type conversation with fanatics myself. all things in my minds eye are simply to never be none, all we can do is use scientific reasoning, and good old common sense. I have had people in my faith try to tell me that there were no such things as dinosaurs at all, that is insane. when I was a young man. I asked a preacher of mine when I still went to church, about prehistoric creatures, he was a well educated man. In his words he explained to me, be it true or not I really don't no maybe I should look it up, but he said that in some hebrew text a day meant a period of time, and if that is the case a day could be a million years. This explains a lot for me, but some people you simply can't reason with. Have a good day. / spinner
