Davideskin, until you spend a decade in an inner
City school, you cannot know the ways that teachers and administrators cheat the underclass. So easy to dismiss the needs of the poor.

Tonight Hillary shamed America by stating that NCLB is a terrible imposition on teachers. Right. They're too busy helping wealthy white kids.

The No Child Left Behind legislation was and is a good idea -- in theory.
It was and is a bust in practicum.  Teachers teach to the test results, not to the children.  Some say it is the same thing; it is not.  Besides, since No Child Left Behind has been initiated, the appropriations have been cut drastically every year.  Lip-service legislation and expectation with no follow-through.  Pathetic.  Typical of this inept administration...

Supporting 'No Child' Bill
I believe in accountability as well but there is such a thing as having too many tests or teachers teaching for the test.  When I went to school (1969-1982), not everything was covered completely.  Many concepts were rushed.  Let's make sure that all the students in the class understand the particular concept before moving on to another one.  If you really want to improve education in this country, why don't we try something as basic as that?
