You are sensitive soul, Dickinson. But don't lose heart. The jaded,
depraved, desensitized people you see are just coping the best way they can in a social setting and sytem that promotes callousness and senseless violence as entertainment.  People distance themselves because they feel they have to, personally and socially.  For the most part, they're no meaner or hateful than the next person, just better at hiding their true emotions.  You, Dickinson, however, are not and your sensitivity searches for understanding of the seeming indifference.

Dickinson, what do you expect! In the USA children see 14,000 simulated
murders on television by the age of 16! I know it is sad and I am sorry for you. You are a compasionate soul. The world has become jaded because of all of the murder shown on TV and in films, so, the trend will not cease until the broadcasting changes ways.
