Now, really, ThomasFranklin, you don't expect them to show up to
actually serve and protect, now do you?

What do they say....an armed society is a polite society? Personally, when I've called the cops, they never show up until its safe.

Re: I live in Gwinnett County. Outside Lilburn. I have a friend who lives in

Everything is pretty good here.  I didn't care a whole lot for Huckabee, but I did like him a lot better than Clinton.  I voted for Huckabee the first time, but not the last time he was governor.

I worked in the building trades.  Mostly Heating and AC when I lived in Georgia, and worked quite a bit in Gwinnet county especially around Lawrenceville.

This is happening a more, this no "snitch" policy, even by those who are
eye-witnesses or know something about a crime.  Fear of reprisal, ostracism, death has become the new seal of omerta on our streets.  I don't know if its worse than it used to be, but I do know that it sure is a shame...

This week, a thirteen year old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting within sight of my grandson's house.  I was thankful that at the time he and his mother were with me at my house.   So far, no one is talking, even though there were witnesses to the shooting.

I live in Gwinnett County. Outside Lilburn. I have a friend who lives in
Acworth.  He works at the Big Lots and the Publix two blocks from said Big Lots.  How goes it in the land of Huckabee?

Re: I worked on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs for two years, Damond. We would

I still have a sister that lives in Smyrna or Marietta.  I am not sure which.  She did live in Smyrna last year, but it seems like she told me she has moved back to Marietta a while back.  After I left Marietta, I lived near Acworth, but had a Kennesaw address for a while then we moved back to Arkansas and raised our kids here.

What part do you live in?

I worked on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs for two years, Damond. We would
tell people on the phone that we were on Roswell Road and they'd ask us if we were the Big Lots near the Big Chicken.  After telling them 'no', we'd give them directions to Sandy Springs.

You lived near the Big Chicken? Cool. As for crime shows giving away
trade secrets -- oh, yeah.  However, most people with criminal intent and are usually not as intelligent as they think they are, so it kinda works out.  Murders are on the rise because there are way too many people living in marginal circumstances in close proximity to each other.  Desperation and poverty are a volatile mix.

Just out of curiosity, do you think

Just out of curiosity, do you think that all the detective shows on TV might give the murderers more gall to try and get away with it?  Like CSI showing how the murders are solved could that be a reason for so many more of them now?  I could be wrong, but it seems to me that there are more here in Arkansas than there were a few years ago too.  I have no data as you gave us, but just by watching the news I get that impression.

I used to live in Marietta just outside Atlanta for about 11 years until I moved back to Arkansas where I was raised.  I don't really miss it except for some of the people.  I met some really nice people out there, and some that I would rather I had never met at all.
