I would agree with you term "unrealistic", but then we are doing with the left, liberals, Democrats and the big media who are some pretty unrealistic people.

That bridge fell down due to factors we do not yet know. I do not know that anyone can blame any President for that. If anyone is to be blamed, it must be the inspectors and the government departments which do not respond appropriately to the findings. Even had they done everything possible, the bridge might have fallen anyway. Sometimes fate trumps.

As a card-carrying liberal...
I sincerely hope that no one tries to make political hay out of this tragedy. I think it would backfire.
Having said that, I must add: It's not President Bush
per se, that is to blame for the decline of our infrastructure
it is the Republican phobia against taxes!!! No one likes to pay taxes, but as it's been said, they are the price we pay for living in a civilized society. Everyone likes clean air, safe food & drivable streets, but no one likes to pay for them.
