You can't shoot 'em, Sunny. More's the pity. It's still against the law.

Good Morning Mary!

Yes, a bar. My thoughts exactly.
Not even a month ago about 4 kids (the oldest being 11, I think) died in a house fire,  because two women left them there so they could go to a bar and drink.
I don't know what the hell is wrong with people.

Sunny - Good morning! Gosh, this is an awful situation then, and one
that is almost impossible to 'fix'.  Can't control other peoples' behaviour.  I cannot believe what some people do to their children.  A bar?

Mary,

Problem is that the one girl (and her brother) don't live here.  There grandmother lives way up the hill and watches her sometimes. This is the first time I've ever seen the "brother".
This used to be such a nice little girl, I don't know what happened. Maybe she is just a master deceiver?

The other girl, I don't know who she is or where she came from. And the one that broke my son's toy wasn't there.

The girl my daughter plays with all the time is our neighbor and I was friends with her mother when we were that age.  Both the kids, especially the boy are bad.

Last week I think it was, my daughter told me that "the parents" walked to the bar (we have a bar up the road) and left the kids there alone, with the boy in charge who is maybe 1-13 tops and in NO way responsible.

That's horrible, I know!
My son, now 5, likes to take his snacks outside on the porch and eat while he plays.  The girl that plays with my daughter comes down and asks him to come in the house and get some for them.
My daughter knows that she has to ask before giving out any snacks to kids.

Sunny - Most definitely time to step n. I would make my thoughts

known to these children's parents. None of this behaviour is right. Your poor son, that poor cat! That's out and out cruelty and cannot be condoned. If they get away with it once, they will do it again. The cat could end up dead. Put your foot down. HARD. I'm a softy in some ways but not when it comes to children, elderly or animals. My daughters KNEW not to fool around with me. One day something happened, don't remember what, but one little boy was going to do something and I warned him and left the room. Behind me I heard Brianna say, "Don't do it! She's NOT kidding!" Ha, ha, ha. He didn't .

This reminds me of when my boys were wee young. The neighbor boys would play with them unless they brought cookies. I watched as they would take the cookies and leave my boys standing there without ( my boys at the time were 4 and 5)...So one day I followed those boys right into their own house and told their parents..Those boys didn't ever ask for another cookie and I wouldn't let my boys play with them...Kids....they make us crazy sometimes methinks..

No problem. I agree with you.

My daughter colored on one of the neighbor's baby dolls before.  She came down and I gave her money to buy a new one (out of the money my daughter had worked for), and asked her to please not to let her have markers anymore.

My daughter now knows that it is "wrong" to damage other peoples stuff.

I felt bad because the one little girl (the one that tried force feeding the kitten) looked like she was going to cry.

Sunny, that is uncalled for!!

I swear...kids have no respect for ANYTHING!!  And you know what the worse part is?  The parents don't give a rootin tootin rats, you know what!!!

When I was a kid, I was taught to have respect for my things AND other people.  What has happened to the kids of this generation.  It totally sucks!!

Oh, and by the way...I didn't get a little time out..I got my butt spanked and NO dessert!!  OHHHH, and let's not forget the soap in the mouth for saying a bad word, eh????

Fack the child abuse theory...something needs to be done before these kids take over the country.  Parents need to get off their lazy hind ends and show their kids some respect.

I'm tired of it!!!!

sorry...I had a bad day.

OH...and I'm NOT saying to beat the kids to death either.  But parents need to put their foot down and be a parent!!

Teddy

LOL...thanks for your lovely comment! I feel much better knowing I'm not the only one out there that feels this way.
They've all left to play at someone else's house, for the moment.  So there is a smile on my face.

You're right, there isn't too much that can be done. As always...thanks for the great advice.

Sunny, not much you can do about the little bastards...most often products
of their parents' attitudes...been through that situation many times and each time I am not given to smile at the antics of the little angels...hand me one of the runts just for a moment...with the laws the way they are anymore, your best bet for the immediate moment is to chill out...get yourself a cool drink, sit down and spew a few quiet expletives...they will trot away and you know well that they will be back with another cause to give light...so sit down and relax while you have a chance...the toys that are ruined, that is a big thing with me, too...but we both know that another toy awaits the eye of the child. Probably something better than what was ruined. The eye of the child is quick and the child's mind even quicker. Material things are endless in supply and the imagination of a child will not allow a standing still for very long. So chill out, shove the neighborhood witch back into the closet and smile through the bottom of your glass. And don't tall back. Got it?
