Unfortunately, araceli, you are correct in that those who have could care
less about those who have less or have not. The politicians in Washington have voted themselves pay raises every year for a decade but have only seen fit to raise the minimum wage once, and that raise was inferior to the increase in cost of living or inflation. We live in a time of increased corporate growth and historically high profits and DOW Jones closings, not to mention an amazing standard of living, yet an inordinate number of people are barely making a living and surviving from paycheck to paycheck.
