I'm not being generous when I say regional/national pronunciation influence

how we say parts of a word (syllables) So u are not wrong, but I say "vi-lets" with the "O" silent much like the "C" is silent in the last syllable of CONNECTICUT but non-American English will allow that syllable as "nect/necked" rather than CON+NET+i+ket. Think also of the Scottish, Irish and English ways of saying any number of words from tomato, to haggis, to bagpipes, to pie, to beer! shalommydearfriend GodBlessYouandYours
