I'm finding that there are more "virtual worlds" lurking out there
than just Second Life. Llike little internets inside the internet, fractal-wise.
But again, while curious, I'm looking for something, not looking for a singles bar or video game.
I dropped the game that held me in thrall for years a few mnths ago...

For excursions into an interesting interactive virtual countryside,
you might check out Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar-- a relatively new interactive role-play game from Turbine, who originated Asheron's Call a while back. Of course I had to look--it is their vision of Middle-earth, and the graphics are worth a look.
It has its oubliettes, too, though not intended.
Somewhere around here I think I still have a free 10-day buddy key...
