I'm pretty fearless...I try to be wise, but don't care for people who try
to use fear to make me do things or not do things...

There is a fine line between fear and fearlessness.
I believe John Wainwright said it best when he commented, "There is no such thing as bravery; only degrees of fear.". We all struggle with fear every day, and I agree with you when you say that fearlessness is not something you do to impress someone. True fearlessness comes when you are willing to move inside the circle of your fear, knowing the potential for hurt is there. A lot of people call this bravery or courage, I happen to agree with them. But no matter what title you use, when done for the correct reasons, true fearlessness is the greatest gift you can give to yourself. A very good post. :)

I feel that the whole question of fearlessness pretty much ONLY comes up
in the armed forces.  I think that bravery develops out of competence.
