The lake idea sounds wonderful. We have a good State Park nearby and I want to get there pretty soon and do some swimming. We do not swim enough! Got to fix that.
By the way, I purchased the cutest dress at the festival today, blue with white and I can't wait to wear it.. Actually I guess you call it a jumper.

Fruit punch is good. I like to process grape juice from my grapes and put it in jars all sealed and then you can open and use that as your punch base all year .

No boozing for me. I am glad to explain about the wine tasting because I haven't done much myself.
The vineyards want to sell wine... so they present the opportunity for you to taste their wine. Here is how it worked.
The festival was held on a BIG beautiful hilly farm/commercial nursery in Western VA. The daylilies are in full bloom.. the setting is perfect. The food vendors are there and live music is provided. Arts and crafts are available to see and purchase.
Each Vineyard/winery involved will set up a table with different wines on display. They will put a little in your wine glass (glass is provided when you purchase your entrance ticket). They ask you to judge the wine and list the one you think is best. Then of course that is important to the winery. But, if you want to you can buy wine there. Well, I tried a few sips, but declined further because I was driving home (about 4 hrs. later as it turned out.)
We had great fun and now will probably go to other such events.

I love wine so to me it's all good! lol...Oh and the used book store sounds fab!!! Leave it to you to think of Christmas shopping already...you are so together woman! Today I am going to the lake...grill some steaks and relax on the blanket..

By wine tasting, do you mean you're gonna spend your weekend boozing,
