Well for better or worse, the novel I wrote in 1994 ended up in a dumpster (my doing) so I can't go back and look! Even now I pull out things I've writen in the last few years and think, "huh?" I have no sample sentences though. The best thing is when I go back and re-read something and actually think, "wow, that's pretty good!"

MiaElla - Someone from Britain might say that. Dialect. Yes, I've read
some of my old stuff that I thought was brilliant at the time. Now? 
Is all I can say. ha, ha. I'm not at home so I can't pull anything out. But believe me it was dreadful, especially when trying to learn how to write dialogue, like:
Hi.
Hi.
How are you?
I am fine. And you?
I am fine too.
You were fine yesterday.
Yes, I was fine yesterday.
Ha, ha. ha!

Mia, I've got tons of stuff, some of which is cringe-worthy and some of which surprises me and is worth resurrecting and sometimes reworking. Mind you, I find the same with my latest notebooks, looking back over them only a couple of months later - some is good and some is very, very bad.
