 Do you think that if the man were in fact more than a mortal man that he would not be dismayed at 30,000 plus fan clubs all declaring themselves his one and only true followers? 

 No, I do not think He is dismayed at the 30,00 fan clubs you mention.  He made it quite clear that the body of Christ (the Christian church) is made up of several parts. Each part of the body usually thinks itself truly the most important.

Do you really think that is what he had in mind as he was developing his world changing philosophies?

Yes, He knew that there would be many different responses to his presence. He did not ask that we be uniform. He asked that we be unified.

And there lies the sadness of the Christian that you point out well. There is indeed a lack of unity from the outside looking in at the churches that call themselves followers of Christ. ~Peace, OTA
