Better to engage existing laws and amend the "Comprehensive"
Immigration Reform Act of 1986. This ridiculous peice of crap was almost exactly the same piece of legislation with a few twists. Since they never enforced or appropriated enough money to provide for the provisions of the 1986 legislation, where's the guarantee they'll not do the same with this. Better to go with what we already have, amend it. Nothing wrong with a lot of those amendments they were putting up for vote, so why not add them to the old bill. It isn't outdated. It was never implemented. What Bush and Kyl and McCain and Kennedy wanted with this recycled crap was to try to prove they were doing something positive while extending amnesty to illegal immigrants.
